Natural Alternatives to Silicones

I recently attended an online presentation from ingredients manufacturer Inolex that included the box of samples you see pictured above.

The box arrived shortly after the live presentation but happily, this was not a problem as a replay was made available to everyone who had registered.

Having samples of what is being presented to you on screen is a great idea and I must give Inolex a shout out for the altogether clever way this presentation and sample box was put together.

I was also positively surprised to learn about the ‘cradle to grave’ care Inolex seems to take in their ingredient production.

This natural emollient series looks like it might have some real potential in both the performance department as well as the planet-friendly department. Contrary to silicones (that forever remain in the environment), Inolex’s emollients are all 100% biodegradeable.

The main bulk of waste they make producing these emollients is - wait for it - water.

I wrote the folks at Inolex to ask if I could interview them, and if (ever) they do get back to me, I’ll follow up with more information.
