Preservative Free Aqueous Lip Stain

Lise

LisaLise-PRESFREELIPGLOSS.jpg

Here’s a fun little exercise in Hurdle Technology that has turned out quite successfully in the first few batches: a plant-based aqueous lip stain with adequate color that is preservative free.

If you can recognize the dried plants at the top, are, you’ll know what one of the components are.

Testing is still ongoing, but I will reveal this: not only does this lip stain moisturize well, it even tastes good.

Follow my main blog for more detailed articles on my work and research.

Red Lip Gloss - A Work in Progress

Lise

LisaLiseRedGloss.jpg

Here’s a peek at a work in progress: lip gloss.

This is part of an ongoing project: to create a series of plant-based make-up products. The pictured gloss has been performing quite well, but the plant colorants in this product have been mixed with a few mineral based colorants to punch up the color.

The color is not quite as bright red when applied, but then, this was meant to be a tint. Getting a red this ‘punchy’ with pure plant colorants is possible, but not in every type of make-up product,

Meantime, somebody’s having fun testing makeup.

Plant Pigments in Shades of Red

Lise

Here is a selection of hand-mixed plant pigments in different combinations. I have been stability testing these during the past few months.

Some of these colors are stable, and some morph into an unrecognizable shade of boring as soon as they are applied to skin - or after they have been applied to skin and water (such as sweat) is introduced to the mix.

Chamomile Infusion

Lise

Chamomile is a long time favorite in the LisaLise Lab. Here's an oil infusion with dried chamomile flowers that have the most glorious light scent. It is times like these I pine for a sniff button when posting something. You're just going to have to trust me that this smells good enough to drink.

The oil is going to be used in a special order elixir placed by a regular client who is just as in love with chamomile as I am.

A New Scent Awaits

Lise

It's juuust barely visible in this picture, but there is a shadow of the name of the perfume that used to be in this bottle recently gifted to me by a friend.

It's been cleaned and is now ready to receive a new scent. I'd better get to work.

Merry Holiday Happiness!

During this cold and dark winter season here in the North, there is a definite need of bright, warm colors!

Here's a contender for the deepest red one could wish for: this all natural color is 100% beetroot!
