Plant Pigment Foundation

When I started this ‘little’ exercise of learning how to make color stable make-up exclusively with plant pigments, I truly thought it wouldn’t take very long.

It has taken numerous years, but as I continue working with plant colorants, I continue to learn about their specific likes and dislikes, what can be done to make (some of) them play nice, and which ones to steer clear of as they won’t play nice long enough to count on as make-up colorants.

Here is a peek at my latest batch of foundation lotion in the making. I have been testing these specific plant pigments in this particular combination since last year and they are not only color-stable in a foundation lotion, they double as skincare ingredients.

If this sounds awfully secretive, it’s because I am still working out details and tweaking everything.

A lot of people have asked if I am going to be sharing my findings on plant-based make-up and I do plan to do so - as soon as I feel comfortable that enough testing has been done.

Meantime, have you seen this bundle offer in the shop?.
