How to: Carrot and Celery Cuticle Serum

Lise

Not long ago, I came across an interesting bit of information about celery seed oil. It would seem celery seed oil is good for helping cuticles, nails, and ridges in nails.

I have had ridgy nails for as long as I can remember. In my youth, there used to be special ‘nail ridge removing files’ available, so I’m guessing ridgy nails is more common than not.

Pictured is a small (10 gram) roll-on bottle with a nail-ridge-rescuing serum I am testing and will be testing over the next months. It is super easy to put together and I have been quite pleased at how quickly it sinks in and lovely it feels. This serum is the kind of thing you want to be applying when you will not be plunging your hands directly into water or dirt or anything else after applying. I been using it in evenings just before bedtime.

And let me be quite honest about the scent. It’s quite ‘vegetable-istic’ and not the kind of scent you like to keep sniffing because it’s so glorious. It’s more the kind of scent that makes you think ‘well, if it works, then I suppose I can put up with it for a few minutes after applying’. In short: not great, but not horrible either.

The Ingredients

I have used up to the max recommended amount of each of the essential oils and if you are not comfortable with that, feel free to use less.

Nigella seed oil was chosen as the base because it is quite simply a bit of a miracle oil that my ridiculously sensitive skin loves to bits.
