Testing Sustainable Containers

This is a batch of my own balm in an all wood container purchased from the designers, developers and Finnish producers, Novapuu. The containers had been standing around empty just looking fabulous for weeks after the package arrived because I almost couldn’t bear the thought of using them.

Yes, they’re that adorable.

Obviously, that wasn’t what the producer had in mind, although I would maintain these containers can function purely as eye candy. Since their arrival, there hasn’t been a visitor to the lab who didn’t feel compelled to immediately pick one up, marvel at the craftsmanship, and play with it.

However, my original idea of buying them was to test them out as cosmetics containers, so here’s a shot of a freshly poured balm that will be undergoing a bit of wear and tear to see how it fares.
