Oh Yes, Honey!

Lise

3honeycleansers-1500.jpg

Pictured; three self-preserving honey cleansers ready to go! These aren’t featured in my book because I just made them ´the other day, but they are based on the formulation guideline in the book.

The coolest thing about making these cleansers is the endless combinations of ingredients to try.

From left to right: Licorice & Fenugreek Cleanser, Fruit Medley & Indian Ginseng Cleanser, and Banana & Baobob Cleanser.

That combo on the right was simply because I thought it sounded fun to say Banana & Baobob. As it turned out, it’s a joy to use.

Have you tried using honey as a cleanser?

DIY Hair Teatment

Lise

hairingr-1500.jpg

This is a very simple pre-shampoo hair and scalp treatment I developed using some of my favorite scalp-loving ingredients: nigella seed oil, chili-infused oil (or choice) and coconut oil.

Simply mix equal parts together and bottle the mixture.

Apply sparingly (not so much your hair is dripping!) and massage around scalp about 30-60 minutes before shampooing your hair.

If you happen to have a tendency to sensitive, itchy scalp, you may find this a winner.

There’s a bit more detail in this post on the main blog.

Enjoy!

Predominately Powders and Salts

Lise

ingredients-1500.jpg

If you’ve been following on the main blog, you have probably come across my shower shakers. This is a combination of powders and salts that are applied and used as an exfoliant in connection with showering.

Not only are they super easy to make and customize, you can eyeball the amounts and still get it right.

Curious? Check it out right here.

Neem, Nettle and Honey

Lise

If you’ve ever worked with neem oil, you may be wrinkling your nose a bit at this title, but neem has many facets. Have you ever worked with neem powder? The scent is quite pleasant and some might describe it a bit like henna — a little ‘earthy and green’.

This very green face cleanser features bothnettle and neem powder and has been quite a hit in my house. I might even venture to say it brings glee and laughter to my family - especially when I apply and leave it on as a mask.

The powders are in a honey base and the formula (and several others) are in my latest e-book. Click the pic below to learn more.

Face and Hand Mask

Lise

facehandmask-1.jpg

I am a little embarrassed to admit I never really thought of using a face mask on my hands, but since I tried it, I have been hooked.

Obviously, this is the kind of thing that requires a bit of ‘me time’ as you are quite literally ‘booked up’ and can’t do much of anything except listen to music or relax when both your face and hands are slathered in ingredients that are best not to drip all over the house. Nonetheless, these days a bit of ‘me time’ is just what the doctor ordered.

Visit this post on the main blog to learn how I made this brightening face and hand mask.

Enjoy!

Single Use Soaps

Lise

I’ve parked a dish of these single use by the sink and find it takes just about 20 seconds for one to dissolve fully. That’s about the length of time we are advised to wash our hands during this social distancing and extra hand-washing time.
